Our services

A decade worth of experience.

At Jordan Speech-Language Therapy, we provide respectful, engaging, and effective speech, language, and feeding therapy for children in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where kids can strengthen communication skills, overcome feeding challenges, and improve oral motor function.

We work with children of all ages—from toddlers saying their first words to older children working on articulation, expressive and receptive language, social communication, and more. Our individualized, play-based therapy plans are tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. We also offer comprehensive speech, language, and feeding evaluations to ensure every child receives the right support to grow and thrive.

Therapy Services

  • Speech-Language Therapy

We offer individualized speech-language therapy to support your child’s communication needs, whether they are a toddler just starting to explore language or an older child working on more complex skills. For younger children, therapy focuses on building foundational skills like babbling, gesture use, and early word production. For older children, therapy may address articulation, understanding language, or using language to express thoughts and needs. Sessions are engaging and designed to meet your child where they are, making progress feel natural and positive.

  • Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy is available for children who experience challenges with eating, drinking, or swallowing. For infants and toddlers, this can include support for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or transitioning to solids. For older children, therapy may address issues like picky eating, chewing, or swallowing concerns. We take a gentle, child-led approach, focusing on making mealtimes enjoyable and helping your child feel confident and safe.

  • Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial myofunctional therapy helps children improve the function of the muscles in the mouth and face. For younger children, therapy may focus on oral habits like thumb sucking or tongue thrusting that can impact speech and feeding. For older children, it may address issues like mouth breathing or improper swallowing. We work with your child to improve muscle function, leading to better speech, feeding, and overall oral health.

Additional Services

  • Evaluations

We provide comprehensive pediatric speech, language, and feeding evaluations for children from birth through adolescence in Chicago. Our evaluations help identify your child’s communication strengths and areas for growth across speech sound development, language skills, feeding abilities, fluency, and social communication.

For infants and toddlers, assessments may include early vocalizations, gesture use, play, and social interaction. For older children, we evaluate advanced language comprehension, expressive language, peer communication, and classroom participation. The results guide recommendations for speech therapy, feeding therapy, or other services to ensure your child receives the support they need to thrive.

We accept private pay and work with families who plan to use insurance benefits for reimbursement. Superbill documentation can be provided to assist with out-of-network claims.

    Areas of focus

Speech: Evaluates how clearly your child produces sounds and words, from early babbling to complex speech patterns, to identify articulation or phonological concerns.

Language: Assesses how your child understands and uses language, including vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure, at every developmental stage.

Feeding: Identifies difficulties with eating, swallowing, oral-motor coordination, and sensory responses to food.

Fluency: Screens for stuttering and other disruptions in the flow, rhythm, and pace of speech.

Social Communication: Looks at how your child interacts with others, uses language in social situations, and understands nonverbal cues and social rules.

  • Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)

Our independent educational evaluations provide insights into how speech, language, and communication skills impact your child’s success in the school setting. We assess how these skills affect understanding instructions, participating in class, and interacting with peers. This assessment is ideal for parents seeking additional insights into their child’s strengths and how they might be supported in school or therapy settings.

  • In-Depth Consultation

We offer consultations for families who are seeking guidance or support without committing to ongoing therapy. During these sessions, we’ll discuss your child’s development, provide recommendations, and develop a plan with actionable strategies to support your child’s needs at home, in school, or other settings.
